Pestapora returned to Jakarta from 25 to 27 September with its biggest bill yet: 330 performers across 19 stages and areas at Gambir Expo and Hall D2 of JIExpo Kemayoran. The festival, run under the theme "Celebration of Surprises", also booked its first international acts. But the name everyone was talking about was Syahrini.

Four years to book Syahrini

Billed as a comeback after seven years away from the stage, Syahrini played the Pestapora Stage from 6.15pm to 7.15pm on the final day. Festival director Kiki Aulia Ucup told Medcom and Kompas he had first invited her in 2022, and that she only agreed around May or June this year. He joked that persuading her had taken more effort than getting Sheila On 7. Ahead of the set, he said she would bring a number of collaborators, with a concept developed from her last concert.

A first for international acts

The festival had never booked performers from abroad before. This year it brought two from South Korea, Tuesday Beach Club and Mombrimz.

Across the three days

Juicy Luicy opened the festival on Friday, on a first day that also featured Vierratale, Rizky Febian, The Changcuters, King Nassar, Danilla and Kerispatih with Sammy Simorangkir. On Sunday, the Pestapora Stage ran from Tulus at 4pm through Syahrini and for Revenge with Tepe, before Dewa 19 featuring Ello closed the night from 9.45pm.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Float played the Riang Gembira Stage at around 5pm, mixing "3 Hari untuk Selamanya" with "Sementara" and two songs from their new EP, Constant Changes, released on 4 September. Medcom described it as a sing-along; singer Meng dedicated one song to the whole crowd.

Tickets were Rp300,000 for a day pass and Rp650,000 for all three days, before tax and fees. No dates for 2027 have been announced yet. When they are, our festival packing list is a good place to start.
