Isyana Sarasvati and Andi Rianto lead the nominations for the 2026 AMI Awards, Indonesia's main music awards, with eight each. The Yayasan Anugerah Musik Indonesia (YAMI) announced the list at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, 21 September.
This year's edition runs under the theme "Ruang Nada Nusantara" and covers 67 categories, four of them new. According to the foundation, 5,360 works were registered for consideration, across everything from pop, rock and jazz to dangdut, keroncong, koplo, metal and hip hop.
New awards for hipdut and regional music
The four new categories say a lot about where Indonesian music is right now: Karya Produksi Hip-Hop, Karya Produksi HipDut, Karya Produksi Musik Etno and Karya Produksi Lagu Pesta Timur. Hipdut in particular has been everywhere this year; it is the sound of Akbar Chalay and Mingse's new single, which we covered in September's new Indonesian music.
YAMI chairman Candra Darusman said the theme was chosen to reflect that range. "Ruang Nada Nusantara reflects how extraordinarily varied Indonesia is," he told reporters, adding that the awards want to recognise traditional music alongside new, modern work.

In Album Terbaik Terbaik, the top album prize, the nominees are Isyana's EKLEKTIKO, Bernadya's Semoga Hanya di Mimpi, Idgitaf's Berusaha di Bawah Hujan, Raim Laode's Iqro' and Tenxi and Jemsii's Puting Beliung.
