About Sumo38

Sumo38 is a music news site written in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Every story runs in both languages, and you can switch at the top of any page.

What we cover

• New releases worth your time, and the ones you can skip.
• Artist stories and interviews.
• Gig and festival previews, then reviews after the lights come up.

Why Sumo?

Sumo is two wrestlers, one ring, and nowhere to hide. We want our music writing to work the same way: short, direct, and focused on the music that actually lands.

How we write

Every story is written or checked by a person who listened to the record or stood in the crowd. When we use a quote or a fact from somewhere else, we link to where it came from.
